Daun Marie Defazio

Daun Marie Defazio (nee DeLacey). Mother to Anthony and Lacey (Mark Lehtman); adored Granny to Shae Thomas Lehtman; Daughter of the late Barbara DeLacey (nee McIntyre) and the late Thomas DeLacey; Beloved Niece of the late Uncle John DeLacey; passed away peacefully on March 16th after a difficult battle with cancer. Her final moments were spent surrounded by family and lifelong friends.

Visitation will be held at 10am until time of Funeral Service, 2pm on Monday, March 25th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th Street in Countryside. 3. Daun was fun in grammar school. We had too much fun.
We caught up at the last high school reunion and then met for a 3-hour lunch weeks later in 2017.
We shared so many stories and laughed until we cried.
She told me about her Irish royalty, her family, her health, Jimmy and we reminisced about old times.

I will miss your smile and laugh, Daun.
Peace to you and all you loved.

  10. “Tis a Fearful Thing.

    ‘Tis a fearful thing
to love what death can touch.

    A fearful thing
to love, to hope, to dream, to be –

    to be,
    And oh, to lose.

    A thing for fools, this,

    And a holy thing,

    a holy thing
    to love.

For your life has lived in me,
    your laugh once lifted me,
your word was gift to me.

To remember this brings painful joy.

    ‘Tis a human thing, love,
    a holy thing, to love
    what death has touched.”
