Richard B. Sinnott, 94, proud U.S. Marine Veteran, of LaGrange Park, formerly of Chicago. Beloved husband of the late Winnie Sinnott (nee Gilleran) for a wonderful 70 years. Loving father of Jim (Mary) Sinnott, the late Joyce Bagdon, Rick (Bev) Sinnott, Tom (Donna) Sinnott and Susan Rademacher. Devoted grandfather of Emmet (Jacqui) Sinnott and William (Grace Flaherty) Sinnott; Hillary (Dave) Pilotto; Kevin, Marina (Reed Showalter) Sinnott, Mack and Robert Sinnott; & Molly Rademacher. Dear great-grandfather of Sonny, James, Leo and EJ.
Richard was a proud longtime Chief of the Chicago Fire Department, retiring after 30 years of service. Richard also worked as a union bricklayer. He was an accomplished amateur artist, working with various mediums, such as woodcarving, clay, stone, and pencil drawing.
Memorial Visitation 10am until time of Memorial Service 12pm Saturday, March 30th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Inurnment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls at mercyhome.org.

Uncle Rich was a very special person and was loved by all. He had an infectious smile, strong hug and firm handshake. He was a favorite uncle among the Gilleran and Bonneville cousins. Even though we are in Arizona right now and won’t be able to make the services, we will definitely be thinking of Uncle Rich and his family. I take solace in knowing that he is already in heaven with Aunt Winnie and my parents, having a good laugh.

Thank you for the note and dad would have probably preferred to be in Arizona as well – lol. Dad had a great journey and a life well lived and, though we will miss him, know he is in a much better place now. Enjoy the weather, Love Tom.

Jim, Mary, Ricky, Bev, Tom, Donna, and Susan- Our heartfelt sorrow on the loss of the “Chief” and our dear Uncle. We have only the fondest memories of Uncle Rich- from his love of family, horseback riding, building Bill&Karens 2 huge fireplaces , so many laughs when he and Uncle Tommy pitched to the “youngsters” at all those family picnics. Have to mentions the wonderful years of family card parties. But like Cousin Pat said who can forget that magnificent constant smile and unique laugh. Our families are all in Florida with us celebrating Easter and will be unable to be with you in person put you are with us in our hearts and prayers. Thank you for the heartfelt note. Dad so enjoyed the picnics, riding and building, all significant parts of his life. We all know he had a hell-of-a run on life and a partner of 70+ years to share it with! I was there for both of the fireplaces and both are a true work of art! The card parties allowed all of us to stay connected over the years and keep us close as families and are missed to this day. The Chief will be long remembered by all who knew and loved him.
