Carol Ruth Norling

Carol Ruth Norling, age 83.  At peace after a valiant fight against cancer.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ruth (nee Korn) Norling.  She is survived by her cousin, William Schilling, a very extended family and many friends and neighbors.  She was a proud graduate from Northwestern.  She worked as a window dresser for Marshall Fields, but her passions were her cats, her garden and her art.  She was a close friend and studio partner with Charles Vickery.  A life-long LaGrange resident, she volunteered locally at the LaGrange Community Nurses Association Thrift Shop and the Historical Society. Interment 1pm on Saturday, July 17 at Bronswood Cemetery Mausoleum, 3805 Madison St., Oak Brook, IL 60523. Memorial gifts may be made to Angels for Hospice Charities, 445 West Erie Street, Suite 203, Chicago, IL 60654 or Grace Lutheran Church, 200 N. Catherine Ave., La Grange, IL 60525. Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home at 708-352-6500.

  1. Carol was a lovely and wonderful lady. I am so sorry to see this. Carol was a loyal volunteer
    at the Community Nurse Carousel Shop for many years. She was so great to work with and always
    had new ideas for the shop. I adored Carol and sorry I did not know she was ill.
