Anna Marie Overton
On Thursday, March 21, 2024, Anna Marie (Ann) Overton (née Fox), born October 5, 1937, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She is survived by her daughter Julia Overton Maloney, her son-in-law Sean Maloney, and her grandchildren: Jake (Jessica), Max (Emily), and Audrey.
She spent the last 16 months of her life in La Grange, IL in order to be close to her family and lots of fun was had. Prior to that, she had lived her whole life in Elkhart and Bristol. She worked for 30 years in the RV Industry as a bookkeeper, credit manager (she remembered if you “hung” her), purchasing agent, payroll manager, and inventory manager. Yes, all at the same time.
She was married to Bert Overton until his too soon death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Connor, and many other friends and family.
She will be missed for her sense of fun, her unwavering loyalty, and her love for her family. She left a legacy of stories to laugh over. She worked hard, made small things special, and running errands will never be the same without her.
A Celebration of Life will take place in Bristol on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11am. I Have worked at ace hardware in Elkhart Indiana since 2001, when I retired from Elkhart Community Schools where I taught at Westside Jr. High, and Memorial High School. Ann was an occasional customer at the hardware store and she always talked about you and asked about my family’s farm on CR 2 in Bristol. I’ll miss her friendly visits and up dates on you.

Julie, so sorry to read of your mom’s passing. I had a feeling Anna Marie wasn’t doing well by your comment on FB awhile back. We grew up together walking to Roosevelt elementary and Jit High together. I lived about four blocks further than your mom and always stopped at her house before walking the last half mile of so. Those were the days. We then parted ways after HS and your mom and Dad getting married but did keep in touch. She will be missed by the EHS class of ’55. May peace be with you and your family.

We are so grateful to have known Ann. She was such a loyal friend and true blessing to our family. I can still hear her laughter, it was the best!! Ann would always check in on Mom and all of us, an Indiana Lake neighbor that our kids are lucky to have known and loved.
