Joseph John Andruzzi Jr.

Joseph John Andruzzi, Jr., age 59, of La Grange, passed away peacefully on March 22nd, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband of Dari (nee Horst); proud father of Melissa, Jessica (Billy) Hamer, and Rebecca; cherished brother of Mary (Jeff) Richman, Michelle (Mark) Riemer, and Michael (Mari); loving son of Mary and the late Joseph; supportive godfather and uncle of many.

In his lifetime, Joe was a proud and esteemed United States Marine, a highly respected Chicago Police Lieutenant who established and developed the Bike Patrol, and a labor attorney representing the Illinois Police Benevolent and Protective Association. His tireless work ethic and goal-setting mentality enabled him to earn all of his higher education degrees as an adult, including his Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and Juris Doctor degree, while working full-time and raising a family. He was a proficient handyman and was passionate about spending his free time landscaping the hillside and building various projects at the family log cabin. However, Joe’s greatest love of all was spending time with his family and enjoying being married to his wife Dari, his best friend since Junior prom.

Visitation 3pm to 9pm on Tuesday, March 26th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Family and friends to meet directly at St. Cletus Parish, La Grange for a 10am Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 27th. Interment will take place privately.

Donations, both blood and monetary, made to American Red Cross are greatly appreciated.
