  4. Melissa was an amazing friend, wife, and mother. She had the most beautiful smile and kind heart. She was a phenomenal teacher and I was proud and humbled to have her as a colleague. Her family was always her pride and joy. This world was a better place because of Melissa. I will miss you dearly my friend! ❤️

  5. Mrs. Russell, as my daughter knew her, taught at Benjamin Middle School for the year my daughter was in 6th grade math. They had an amazing bond that teachers and students alike yearn for. She was the first teacher to ever make my daughter believe in herself regarding math and helped her to see herself as truly capable. She was in our school and our lives for far too short of a time but her impact will never be forgotten. My daughter and I will be forever grateful to her for the indelible mark of confidence she left behind.

  7. Dearest Russell clan,

I am truly heartbroken over Melissa’s passing. She was such a wonderful amazing women and mother. When I was running crazy stressed out, her serene grace was something I truly admire about her. She was something to behold as she exuded poise and level-headedness to things that I found stressful and out of control. I often who repeat a mantra, “what would Melissa do?” Her quiet strength was her super power. I still to this day, cannot fathom how she did it all – raise a family, work, hubs, volunteer, keep an amazing house, run. She will be truly missed by our entire family and the Lisle community. I know that if I do make it to the pearly gates, Melissa will be there and the two of us will enjoy a big glass of wine. Love ya, Missy Sue!

    From,
    Missy Dawn
