Mark Klesman

Mark Klesman, age 69, passed away suddenly on February 22, 2024. Adored husband of Kathy Webster. Legendary father of Alison and Jennifer Klesman. Dear brother of Norris (Charlotte) Klesman. Fond nephew of Marcia Mark. Caring cousin of Rose Morowitz, Judy (Gary) Galluzzo, Linda (Bill) Hildebrand, and Sheri (Jere) Roche. Proud to be called friend and brother by many. His loyalty, humor, and authenticity were of incalculable worth to those he called friend.

Mark was the founder and leader of  Klesman & Company for 36 years and led his business to remarkable success. He was both a friend and mentor to those he worked with. His Office Family was of utmost importance. Trusted and respected for his honesty and fairness, he also had a knack for transforming clients, advisors, and professional colleagues into close and valued friends.

Mark loved cruising, travelling, and especially the friends he made on these voyages. He was an epic entertainer, often performing karaoke under the stage name Ron D.M.C. Legend has it, his rendition of Sweet Caroline put the “rock” in Morocco.

Visitation will be held from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. Monday, February 26th, at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, February 27th. Interment to follow at Bronswood Cemetery in Oak Brook. We will then gather to informally celebrate Mark’s life with a toast at Eddie Merlot’s, 201 Bridewell Drive, Burr Ridge, starting at 2:30 – 5:30 P.M. Please feel free to dress in your happy hour attire. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Advocate Children’s Hospital, Mothers Trust Foundation, National Hellenic Museum, or a charity of your choice.

Mark and I started our businesses the same year. His Mom was my client and she told me how proud she was of him and that I should hire him if I wanted the best accountant:) I did immediately. He was our trusted tax advisor for 36 years:)
He was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and a true friend.
    He will be sorely missed:(

  4. Kathy and family,
I am so saddened to hear of Mark’s passing. We became friends on the peer review circuit many years ago and always had a great time at the conferences. Yes, I have even witnessed Ron DMC in action. He was a GREAT guy, but he was also one hell of an accountant. His knowledge, expertise and time given to the peer review community will never be forgotten. He performed our firm’s last peer review, and I had the honor of being a part of the his now-last peer review RAB meeting on Feb 2nd. He had a fake background on his Zoom of him lounging in, well, a lounge. It will be my lasting impression of him and it makes me smile. Truly my best to you all as you go through this most difficult time.
    Sincerely,
