  1. “Dort” was one of ten children: predeceased by brothers Eddie, Gene, Daniel, Tom, and Larry and survived by sister Gerry and brothers Bernie, Billy, and Paul with nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews too numerous to count except on paper. She was married to Bill Raff for 42 yrs. before his death in August, 2000. She lived alone and worked full-time until October, 2020 formally retiring this January to stay home with her Favorite Buddy – 12 yr. old long-haired dachshund, Snoopy. What a remarkable lady and Best Mom Ever! Miss you already . . . Happy Easter and Heavenly 82nd Birthday April 15th.

  2. Dorothy, Was a wonderful, boss, Co-worker and employee too. Laura and her mentored me and later I succeed her when she 1st retired. She later came back to work part-time for me. We had wonderful relationship whenever we would meet for dinner the few times a year it was like we had just seen each other. I never had the honor of meeting her family but sure knew all about them and how she loved them all. I saw her grandkid grow up with the pictures mural in her office. She definitely an honor to work for, know her and called her a friend.

  3. I worked with Dorothy at Garda since 2014. Over that time, I had a lot of great talks with this wonderful women. She always offered me her advice at the right moment. She knew every time I was experiencing an emotional moment and had the right words. I am happy she had a great family and lived great times with them. She was always so proud of her kids and grands, and can’t forget snoopy. She was very happy with her last bday, when she bought her last car and she was very emotional when she found out about her first great grand child; I can keep saying more and more but I am going to close it by saying she was very happy with her life and family. Thank you my friend for your sincere friendship and support. Rest In Peace. My sincere condolences to the entire family.

  4. I am very sorry to hear this about your mom. I always liked her and your dad and remember when you kids were small. Prayers for you and your family.

  5. Our Granny was The Best.

Our Granny was fun: She let six kids sleep at her house and then stayed up all night playing Scrabble. She danced the jitterbug and scared us with her false teeth, if we asked nicely. She spoiled us rotten and we loved it.

Our Granny was fierce: She arm wrestled and won. She swore at the Bears on TV. She told stories of the depression, the war, the city. She wanted to work, even when we wished she would rest.

Our Granny was kind: She gently dried our tears. She shared secret smiles and let us be us. She was generous with her money and spirit.

Our Granny was loved: She inspired songs, poems, and t-shirts. She loved us and we knew it. So we tried to give her back all the love she gave us, even though we knew it was impossible.

Happy Birthday, Granny. We miss you terribly xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

  6. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Dorothy was a great boss, co-worker and friend. And she loved her grandchildren and Snoopy so much! Obviously, I have not talked to her in a while, couldn’t find her phone number. I was trying to let her know that my husband Clarence had passed. Much to my surprise I found this. Again, please accept my deepest condolences 💐
