Sister Marie Frances Basile, C. S. J., age 91. Beloved member of the Congregation of St. Joseph, celebrating 67 years of Religious Life. Loving daughter of the late James and Frances. Devoted sister of the late Louis and the late Catherine Pesavento. She is survived by 3 devoted nieces and 5 nephews and all their spouses, along with 16 grand-nieces and nephews. Sr. Marie graduated from St. Willibrod High School. She graduated from DePaul University with a bachelor’s degree in Theology. She received her master’s degree in Arts in Religions studies from Mundelein College in Chicago, IL. She taught grades 1 – 7 for her first 16 years in community in the various parishes in the western suburbs of Chicago, including LaGrange, LaGrange Park, Hinsdale, Lyons, Hillside, Coal City, Riverside, as well as in Chicago. She continued to serve in surrounding parishes as Religious Ed. Coordinator and Catechist as well. Sr. Marie then moved into the ministry as a companion to the elderly in a local nursing home, and finally as Congregation Chapel Sacristan. A private memorial prayer service is planned.
