  8. My beloved Nenita was a most spiritual, faith-filled, loving, caring and compassionate person. She was a very devout Catholic. Prayer was her first priority each and every day of her life and she was solely responsible for enhancing prayer in my life. Loving her was as natural as breathing. I loved her more with each passing day and came to love her more than I could ever have imagined. Throughout her battle with ALS, she exemplified extreme courage and relied on her faith in God to face each and every day. She was a devoted member of the Legion of Mary and her love of mama Mary could be seen in the hope that she had in facing her fight, hoping that she would get well. During her battle, she never wavered in her care and concern for others, which nearly brought tears to my eyes. The love that she had shown for others throughout her illness was clearly evident – her love for her son, the love for her daughter, and especially the love for her grandsons, Nolan and Jonas whom she affectionately hugged and kissed. She was their beloved “Lola”! God had seen her increasing struggle and called her home. The time had come for her departure. She has fought the good fight. She has finished the race. She has kept the faith. Now there is in store for her, the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to her on that day – and not only to her, but to all who have longed for His appearing. So my beloved Nenita, I say “Farewell and Godspeed” until we meet again in Heaven. I loved you in life and I will love you forever!
