Carissa Marie Wascher, age 27, of Downers Grove.  Beloved daughter of Christine and the late Gary Wascher.  Devoted sister of Daniel (Katrina) Wascher, Justin (Taryn) Wascher, Mary (William) Pottenburgh, John (Anie) Wascher and Joseph Wascher.  Cherished aunt of Nathaniel, Joshua, Nicholas, Sarah, Elizabeth, Jacob, Kamryn, Marissa, Sean, Liam, Ava, Nolan and Clara.  Carissa will always be remembered for her deep faith and complete trust in Jesus Christ and meeting every challenge with joy and hope.  She is a graduate of University of Illinois Chicago where she majored in Rehabilitation Science and double minored in Nutrition and Disability and Human Development.  Carissa was also known for her green thumb caring for her many house plants as well her love of music, singing and playing guitar.  She also served as an ambassador for Cancer Buddy.  Visitation 3-9 p.m. (with rosary 4:00 – 4:30pm) Thursday August 7^th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside.  Prayers 9 a.m. Friday August 8^th from the funeral home to Notre Dame Church, Clarendon Hills for Mass at 10 a.m.  Interment Assumption Cemetery.  Funeral home phone 708-352-6500
