Josephine Catherine Jamrozik, age 97, of Western Springs, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Beloved sister of Edward (the late Mary) Jamrozik, the late Emily (the late John) Pultorak, the late Anna (the late Frank) Cadero, the late Harry (the late Josephine) Jamrozik, and the late Mary (the late Lou) Romano. Cherished aunt of Mary Jo (Al), Toni (Ron), John (Lynn), Angie (Mark), Cathy (the late Karl), Teri, Rosanne (Bill), Edward, Jr. (Christine), the late Andy (Joyce), Joanne (the late Don), the late Rosemary (Rich), the late John (Sue), the late Barbara (the late Ed), the late Frannie (Tom), John (Sue), the late Georgette (the late Don) and many great and great, great nieces and nephews. Josephine was also a dear friend to many and will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and strength of spirit.
Josephine had a zest for life and found joy in the simple pleasures—she loved indulging in chocolate and ice cream, spending time at the casino playing the slots, and sharing laughter over card games with family and friends. She cared deeply for everyone around her and had a special knack for complimenting others, always making people feel seen and appreciated. A lifelong Chicago White Sox fan, Josephine never missed a chance to cheer on her team, whether they were winning or not. Her fun-loving spirit, kind words, and fierce loyalty left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 28 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Church in Western Springs. Entombment will take place at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Josephine’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/) are appreciated.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
