Olivia A. Slavish

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Olivia Anne Slavish on May 3, 2024 at the age of 66.  Olivia was born as the oldest daughter to Sophie K. and Alex P. Slavish on November 4, 1957 in Bethlehem, PA. She was the beloved wife of Michael Deli.

She was a graduate of Freedom High School in 1975 and Temple University’s School of Pharmacy in 1981. Following graduation she moved to Chicago, Illinois.  There she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois. She was passionate about the care of veterans and had a long lasting 35 year career as a pharmacist at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA hospital until her retirement in 2016

She enjoyed travel to Europe, Alaska, Mexico and visiting family in Pennsylvania. Her faith led her to her church congregation, the Christ Church of Oak Brook, where her passion for creating and knitting prayer shawls allowed her to remain active in her spirit of giving.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Michael Deli; her sisters, Alexis and Dr. Lydia Slavish and her nieces, Lauren and Meredith Roberts and her nephews, Griffith and Jonathan Roberts as well as many cousins and friends. Her dry sense of humor and contagious laugh will be remembered and missed.

In lieu of flowers, her family kindly asks that all donations be made in her name to either the Brookfield Zoo or Christ Church of Oak Brook.

Visitation 12pm until time of Funeral Service, 2pm, on Saturday, May 11th, at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside.

Funeral information: 708-352-6500
