Mickey Lee Novinger

Mickey Lee Novinger, age 78, of Indian Head Park, formerly of Western Springs, passed away on March 11, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Donald Novinger. Loving mother of Dawn (Bob) Bielski, Amy Dettloff, and Andy (Anna) Novinger. Devoted grandmother of Matthew (Anne) Rickert, Jordan (Jared) Keckeisen, Zachary Dettloff, Colin Novinger, Emma Novinger, Lacey (Mike) Wilson, Lindsey Bielski, and Taylor Bielski. Cherished great-grandmother of 5. Fond aunt and friend of many. Mickey was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Aileen Bramstedt, and siblings, Carol (late John) Noonan and Lee Bramstedt.

Mickey was a ray of sunshine to everyone that she encountered. She was always happy. Mickey had a love for birds. She enjoyed traveling, playing bunko, and spending time with her ‘Family Life’ family.

Visitation 3 to 9pm Thursday, March 14th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Chapel prayers 10:15am Friday, March 15th from the funeral home, processing to 11am Mass at St. John of the Cross Church, Western Springs. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and American Diabetes Association.

  1. Mickey will be missed for her many years of friendship, games, travel, cruising, golf and lots of hospitality together. Our hearts go out to all of her family and many friends. She will be joining ‘The Captain of the Day’,
    perhaps for more cruising.

  2. I am so blessed to have known Mickey for 65 years. Through eighth grade, high school, and college, we shared our hopes, dreams, disappointments, and joys. In recent years, we have done the same.

    She was so proud of her family. All of you are in my prayers.

  3. I met aunt Mickey a couple of times and then kept in contact with her she was a fun outgoing person she made it to my grandma’s funeral… She will be sadly missed…

  4. I had the pleasure of working with Mickey for about six years at Osco Drug in the office is in Oakbrook. She was always happy always had a smile on her face always was cheerful and friendly.

    We had a great time together and stayed in touch for a while after we both left us, but with me moving out by Galena, it was a little bit hard to visit.

    I can’t believe she’s gone. She’s someone you always wanna have around

    My sincere condolences to her children, her grandchildren and her friends. we all have lost a wonderful, special lady. I will never forget her.

  5. I met Mickey while she was working at The Wilshire Green Clubhouse, in Indian Head Park where she also lived. She was always very friendly. I’m sorry to hear that she has passed. Condolences to her family and friends.

  6. I knew Mickey at Nazareth Academy. Ate lunch with her, Carol Murphy, and Beverly Janowski. We had a lot of fun and even saw each other on weekends. My heart is broken. I will keep the whole family in my thoughts and prayers

  7. I met Mickey through the Western Springs NewComers Club. She was always friendly and happy and a joy whenever I would see her. My condolences to her family. She will be missed.

  8. Linda and I knew Mickey since the late 60’s when she and Butch moved to Yorba Linda CA. We didn’t get to see her much after they moved back to Western Springs but the times we did Mickey was always the same fun, funny and caring person she had always been. The world was a better place when she was in it and we wish she was still in it!

  9. I was so sad to learn that Mickey passed away.
    I worked with her at Wilshire Green, and cared for and valued her as a co-worker and neighbor. She was a joy to be around and was kind to all. Mickey will be missed.

  10. Just learned the sad news today of Mickey’s passing. I always enjoyed seeing and working with her on the days we were scheduled together. She will be very much missed.
