Karen E. O’Toole

Karen E. O’Toole, of Asheville, N.C. passed away peacefully February 26, 2024 after a lengthy illness. Beloved daughter of the late James and Eleanor (O’Heir) O’Toole. Beloved sister of Maureen, James, Jeanne (Randy) Juras, Sarah (the late Thomas) Styx, Kathy, Eleanor (Michael) Kobit and the late Mary Therese. She was a proud Aunt and Great Aunt of many nieces and nephews and leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles and innumerable friends. She was a businesswoman in both Florida and her beloved Asheville, North Carolina. She enjoyed the fruits of her labor through using her horticulture skills, building waterfalls, painting or helping those less capable in her community. She was an athlete and lover of art, live music, dancing, reading, and her fur babies. She was an avid kayaker, and above all, she was an adventurer and lover of people. She made friends quickly and was always the life of the party. Her laughter and humor filled any room, large or small.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her twin sister Kathy.

  12. I’m so sorry for your loss. Karen was one of the first people I met when I moved to Florida in 2002. I lived across the street from her in Gulfport. I remember often calling upon “my tall” friend to help me lift my Kayak onto the roof of my van. I fondly remember sharing a beer and a chat with her after work. Rest in peace sweet Karen.
