Catherine Stubitsch
Catherine Stubitsch, age 60, of LaGrange, passed away on February 16, 2024. Cherished daughter of the late Ernest & Olga Stubitsch; loving sister of Paul, Mary, and Tom Stubitsch; dear aunt of Adam, Colette, Ryan, and Taylor Stubitsch ; a friend of many.
Catherine was raised on the southwest side of Chicago. She attended St. Gall grammar school, Queen of Peace High School, and graduated from Lewis University with a degree in English. She loved sports, especially tennis, and basketball, which she played competitively. She inherited a love of photography from her father and enjoyed taking pictures of Chicago.
Catherine had an especially close relationship with her sister, Mary, who was her advocate and oversaw her care after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis early in her adult life. Despite her limitations, she had a fierce desire to live and will be remembered as a fighter.
Visitation 10am until time of Funeral Mass, 11am on Saturday, February 24 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 124 N. Spring Ave., LaGrange, IL 60525. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Catherine’s name to the Chicago Food Depository (https://www.chicagosfoodbank.org/) or Misericordia (https://www.misericordia.com/) are greatly appreciated.

I’m so sorry to hear about Cathy’s passing. She was a certified sweetheart, funny intelligent, beautiful and great person. I’m sorry for her brothers and sister….
