Diana C. Sunyog
Diana C. Sunyog, age 84, of Burr Ridge. Beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Sunyog for 56 wonderful years. Loving mother of Scott (Evenin) Sunyog. Devoted grandmother of Kevin Sunyog. Dear sister-in-law of Barbara Orelup. Cherished aunt of Bernie (Katie) Orelup and Bob (Kim) Orelup. Fond great-aunt of Josh & Max Orelup and Ally, Owen & Emery Orelup. Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Carmine and Philomena Cantone and sister Raffaela. Survived by many friends.
Diana was a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago and spent many years working as an administrative assistant at School District 102 (Park Junior High School) in LaGrange Park. She was known for her mild mannered nature, kindness and keen sense of humor. She loved to garden, read and complete crossword puzzles. Diana and her husband Bob were residents of LaGrange Park, IL for 54 years where they enjoyed gardening, craftwork and visiting local museums and theater. An avid sports fan, her passion for the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks was second to none. A dedicated mother and grandmother, she enjoyed attending her son Scott’s musical performances and her grandson Kevin’s travel hockey games. In her retirement, she loved traveling in the American West with her husband Bob, attending games, musical performances and events with her friends at the King Bruwaert Manor Home and enjoying time with her beloved family.
Visitation 3 to 9pm Sunday, July 9th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Chapel Prayers at funeral home 10:45am Monday, July 10th to 11:30am mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, LaGrange. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

When events were moving at a frenetic pace around her, Diana remained calm, patient, and in control. She was the perfect administrative assistant for a junior high which is always swirling with activity. Students and staff appreciated her caring approach and quick wit. She made “going to the office” a pleasure, not a punishment.
Scott, you are in our prayers.
My condolences to Diana’s family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I knew her too short of a time here at KBH. We attended many programs together .

Dear Scott, Evenin, and family,
We are so sorry for your loss of your beloved, Diana. I will always remember her beautiful face, and dynamic smile at the OLOP noon mass. She was always so happy, and would shine like a star.
