Robert A. Cione

Robert A. Cione, born October, 1948 in Blue Island, IL to Gladys (nee Stuebe) and Albert Cione; Robert is survived by his sister, Kay Angela Cione. Robert attended First Lutheran Grade School in Blue Island, and graduated in 1966 from Harold L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn. In 1970 he earned his B.A. from Drake University, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity (Beta Delta Chapter). Robert proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1976 and later attended Northern Illinois University, graduating in 1987 with a Master of Science in Education. An active member of the American Legion, he also maintained his involvement with Pi Kappa Phi, where he was a member of the Nu Phi Society, throughout his life. In 2011, he retired from his long-time position as Manager of the U.S. Government Printing Office in Chicago. Robert resided in Camdenton, MO where he passed away in January, 2023. He will be dearly missed.

A committal service will take place at 11am on Saturday, April 15 at the First Lutheran Cemetery, 4135 W. 127th St., in Alsip, IL.

Memorial donations in Rob’s honor may be given to the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Program, Indianapolis, IN or to the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation, Charlotte, NC.
