Sally R. Finnegan

Sally R. Finnegan (Thompson), 91, passed away on Saturday, December 10th with family members at her side.

Born May 19, 1931, daughter of Frank and Genevieve (Casutt) Thompson, Sally grew up in Dubuque Iowa, graduated from Clark College in 1953 and raised her family of six children in Chicago.  She was loved by her family and friends, had a terrific sense of humor and was always the positive spirit in a crowd.  Sally was a fabulous mother, (great) grandmother and friend to many.

Surviving are her six children, Nancy, of Warsaw, VA, Joan, of Salt Lake City, UT, Ruth, of Richmond, VA, Paul (Laura), of LaGrange Park, IL, David, of Minneapolis, MN and Steve (Christine), of North Oaks, MN;  9 grandchildren, Colleen Coghlan, David Coghlan (Anh), Bridget Coghlan McMillion (Patrick), Brian Coghlan (Debbie), Sara Finnegan, Ella Finnegan, Sarah Finnegan, Quinn Finnegan and Colin Finnegan; three great-grandchildren, Ailish McMillion, Elenora McMillion and Maureen Coghlan.  Sally’s brother Paul (Mary) Thompson of Richmond, VA, and sister, Anne Geiser of Athens, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jack Thompson, sister Joan Loes and brother-in-laws, Fred Geiser, Dr. Louis Loes and sister-in-law Mary Virginia Thompson.
