Charles Scallon, 97, of Western Springs. Proud World War II U.S. Navy veteran. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn Scallon for 70 wonderful years. Devoted son of the late Dorothea and Bernard. Adoring father of the late Carol (David). Treasured grandfather of Courtney (Mike), Brendan (Carrie), Caitlin (Desi), and Charles (Kelly). Blessed great-grandfather of Brendan Jr., Michael, Carolyn, James, Caroline, Desi Jr., Madeleine, and Kai. Uncle Chuck to many cherished cousins. He embodied everything that was good about the Greatest Generation and will be missed beyond measure. Interment was held privately.
