Thomas Stephen Hund

Thomas Stephen Hund, 79, of Champaign passed away peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2022.  He was born and raised in Forest Park, IL and attended Quigley Preparatory Seminary, receiving a Master’s degree in Philosophy before his ordination as a Catholic Priest in 1968.  Tom left the priesthood but remained a man of faith throughout his life.  He taught himself business computing and grew a successful 40+ year career as a computer analyst.  He was an avid reader, history buff, handy man, gardener, camping enthusiast, fan of the White Sox and Chicago Bears, and a friend of dogs with a notoriously hard head who valued family above all else.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years Patricia (Stolfa); children Anita Hund and husband Ross Wantland, Thomas J. and wife Keila Naparstek Hund, Regina Hund and fiancée Amy Sellers, and Stephen Hund and wife Natalie Moretti; and grandchildren Arthur Lev Hund, Gabriel Eitan Hund, and Anthony Darrell Wantland.  He was preceded in death by his father Charles J. and mother Rose (Rizzo) Hund and siblings Charles F. Hund and Rosalie Franzen.  A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 3rd at 10:30 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 124 N. Spring Ave, La Grange, IL. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the mass.   Those unable to attend Mass may view the live-stream at https://www.facebook.com/SFXParish.LG/live/. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory may be made to 4 Paws For Ability or the Davis Heart and Lung Research Fund at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
