Edward “Eddie” Lichner

Edward “Eddie” Lichner, of Lisle and formerly of Cicero; beloved son of Mary (Bob – stepdad) Kawall and Ed Lichner; loving brother of Rhonda (Christian) Legan; proud uncle of Sara Mikelenas; loving cat dad of Bailey; dear nephew, cousin & friend of many.

Eddie graduated from Morton High School in Cicero in 1989. Through the years, he maintained strong ties and friendships from his formative years and built many more. He cherished the time he spent with people and valued the memories that were made. He would often tell stories about his life experiences – sharing both wisdom and laughter.

Recently retired, Eddie was proud to be a member of the IBEW Local 134 Union since 1998 and had achieved Union Steward Certification.

Throughout his life, Eddie was an avid animal lover and had been known to bring home a few strays to add to the family. He had cared for and loved multiple cats and dogs, fish, a hamster, a frog, a tarantula, and a turtle.

Anyone who knew Eddie knew that Sunday was football day and not to call because he would be watching the games. He was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears. In high school, he had the chance to meet and talk with the “Monsters of the Midway” when the ’85/’86 Chicago Bears practiced football at his high school. During baseball season, Eddie was a Southside fan all the way, cheering for the White Sox.

Eddie lived by the motto “Live and let live.” He touched many lives and will be missed greatly.
