Charles Rodger Brown II

Charles Rodger Brown II, age 80, proud US Army Veteran, of Burr Ridge. Beloved husband of Nancy Brown (nee O’Brien) for a wonderful 58 years. Loving father of Heather (Edwin) Ryerson, Charles Rodger (Kimber) Brown III, and Charla (John) Mattern. Devoted grandfather of Abbey, Anna, Brendan, Lily, Christian, Adelaide, Edwin, and Nora. Dear brother of Judith (Leonard) Muller. Cherished brother-in-law of Terrence O’Brien, Dennis O’Brien, and Richard O’Brien. Fond uncle and friend of many. Rodger was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Devona Brown; siblings, Doe Ann (Craig) Traver, Mary Jean (Bud) Reese and Quentin Brown; parents-in-law, Honorable Donald & Helen O’Brien; and brother-in-law, Honorable Donald O’Brien Jr.

Rodger was CEO of Railton Co., which was later acquired by Sysco. He was involved in many community organizations, amongst them Community Memorial Foundation. Rodger was a proud graduate of Notre Dame and Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management. Rodger was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Finance Corp upon graduation from Kellogg.

Visitation 9am until time of chapel prayers 11am Friday, September 17th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Family and friends to meet at St. Cletus Church, 600 W. 55th St., La Grange for 11:15am Mass immediately following visitation. Interment private.   1. Dear Mrs. Brown, Heather, Rodger and Char:

    Sorry to hear of the passing of your husband and father.
    Mr. Brown was a true gentleman and gave me great advice when I was finishing college ready to enter the work force.
    Also, he and Mr. Roach were one of my favorite loops at the LaGrange CC during my college days.
    May he rest in peace and the Good Lord hold him in the palm of his hand.

  2. I am so sorry to hear about Rodgers passing. My prayers and thoughts go out to Nancy and his family. I hope to stop by Friday morning to pay my respects. Either way I will be donating to Misericordia in his name. I miss you guys and hope you are well Nancy.
