Eric George Fladeland

Eric George Fladeland, 54, of Naperville. Beloved husband of Cathy. Loving father of Emma. Cherished brother of Laura and Jason (Melissa). Dear uncle of LeAnn Ward and great-uncle of Mila Hoye. Loving nephew and cousin. Loyal friend to many.

Eric loved to get to know people and he never met anyone he could not engage in conversation. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge as evidenced by stellar trivia skills and his Masters Degree in Organizational Behavior and Development. He used that knowledge to help people as a volunteer career coach through the Naperville Career Center.  He happily pursued a lifelong chase of the perfect hobby which most recently focused on trap shooting and he fulfilled a long-held dream of learning to sail this past fall. His proudest and happiest moments came from watching his daughter, Emma grow into the young woman she has become, and he was so happy to know she will be attending the University of Tennessee in August.

His larger-than-life personality, goofy sense of humor and big heart will be remembered forever by the many who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christina (Schu) and George Fladeland, in-laws Helene (Bensen) and Jack Mueller.
