Chester Marciszewski

Chester “Casey” Marciszewski, 90, of La Grange Highlands passed away peacefully on January 29th and was reunited in heaven with his wife, Joyce (nee Hothersall), and his grandson, Patrick Casey Leahy.

Casey was a veteran of the Korean War and a lifelong fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and White Sox.  He drove around the country and Canada to attend Blackhawks games and cheer his team on.  Attending one of the games of the 2005 World Series and watching them become the champions was his dream come true.

Casey’s memory will forever be cherished by his daughters, Debbie Leahy and Denise, his grandson, Matthew Leahy, his friend, Mike Burke, his sister, Frances Santi, his brother Edward, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Eugenia Gazarek, and brothers, Stanley, Mitchell, John, Joseph and Henry.

Interment will take place at 11am on Friday, February 5 at Bronswood Cemetery, 3805 Madison Street, Oak Brook, IL 60523. Committal prayers will take place in the mausoleum. Social distancing guidelines in place; masks are required.

  2. My condolences to the entire family. Casey was a legend in our neighborhood. The Harvey Ave gang will sorely miss him. Casey had a great smile: was so friendly, warm, caring, a great story teller and one with a joke at the ready. Rest in peace with Joyce and Patrick. God Bless!

  5. Just read this notice. Our family loved Casey! He often regaled our boys with his stories and provided many laughs. 💕 He was adept at his work, but more importantly, was an all around good guy!
