Raymond G. Prucha

Raymond G. Prucha, 97, of Western Springs, IL, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2020.  Cherished husband of the late Hazel (nee Reinhard) Prucha.  Devoted son of the late Frank and the late Emma (nee Smetana) Prucha.  Loving brother of the late Frank (the late Marie), the late Clarence (the late Beverly), and the late James (Denise) Prucha.  Fond uncle and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews.  Raymond was a World War II army veteran and a top salesman for Hines Lumber Co. for many years.  Due to Covid-19, services and interment private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, 1140 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607.  Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home, Countryside, at 708/352-6500

  1. Ray was a wonderful man, a devoted husband to his wife Hazel, and a very kind neighbor with a memorable smile. May he rest in God’s peace.

  2. Ray was not only my Uncle and Godfather he was a friend. We talked often and shared many personal and private ideas and thoughts. He was such a devoted husband to my Aunt Hazel and they truly had a magical relationship. I will miss him, his smile and laughter. I hope he and Aunt Hazel are together again.
