William E. Murphy

William E. Murphy, Jr., 78, of Woodridge.  Beloved husband of Beverly for 55 years.  Loving father of Kevin (Ruth) Murphy and Lonna Murphy (Ethan Badman).  Devoted grandfather of Dermot Murphy Badman.  Dear brother of Patricia (Ronald) Girard and the late Joseph (Donna) Murphy.  Fond uncle of Dawn Girard Kunz, Ronald (Erika) Girard, Carol (Martin) Zavala and Eric (Anna) Girard.  He is also survived by several grand-nieces.  Memorial Mass to be held at a later date.  Bill was an accountant, and a Catholic Deacon at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Naperville and St. Irene Church in Warrenville.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as Cursillo and Marriage Encounter Communities.  In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Woodridge Community Food Pantry or to St. Bede Academy in Peru, IL would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home, Downers Grove at 630/964-6500

  3. I still remember when Deacon Bill was at SES in the 90s. So sorry to see he has departed from this life. I send my deepest condolences.

    So sorry to hear about the loss of Bill. I cannot even count how many Cursillo weekends we worked together, or how many Monday evenings we spent sharing our faith life. I’m sure you will always remember what a remarkable man he really was. Take care and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

  5. Bill was a popular member of our Class of 1959 at St. Bede Academy in Peru, Illinois.
    We remember him most by his devotion to his faith and the Catholic Church.
