Lawrence B. Marciniak
Lawrence B. Marciniak, age 64, of Burr Ridge, IL passed away suddenly on April 7, 2019. Loving husband of Sandy; loving dad of Lauren (Trevor) Cushard and Stephanie Marciniak; dear brother of Linda (John) Cuff and longtime friend of Michael Drysch and Jan Ward. Preceded in death by parents Jacqueline Rygie and Amel M. Marciniak.
Larry was a loving husband of 36 years this month, and a proud, devoted father. He displayed kindness in the small gifts he’d bring to his wife and the bear hugs he’d give his daughters.
A lover of Chicago sports and politics, Larry debated any topic convincingly. He had fun camping with his family and spending time at his lake house which brought him serenity, enjoyment, and of course a very long “honey do” list.
Not only was Larry a good man and father, he was extremely intelligent, mastering board games and crossword puzzles with ease. He was an avid reader, especially history, and when asked, could recall the facts.
He instilled his love of music in his daughters, singing classic rock to them even as babies. He had a fondness for Labrador retrievers, movies, and old comic books, and nothing was better than a Bears game, beer, and pumpkin seeds.
At the end of the day, he leaves this place holding dear to his heart precious memories of his life with his “three girls.”
A visitation for Larry will be held 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Family & friends will gather at St. James at Sag Bridge Catholic Church, 10600 Archer Avenue in Lemont on Wednesday, April 17 for 9:30 a.m. Mass. Entombment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. My wife Shirley and I send are deepest condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Larry was a good friend growing up together on the South Side. He knew I liked to sing and loved Jethro Tull.
There is a great song by them titled,”Life’s a Long Song,” very fitting.

Larry and I use to walk home from St. Michael’s Grammar School, when I lived on Burley Avenue. He was a swell kid, so I’m sure he was a wonderful man.
