Bernard Woods photoBernard C. “Barney” Woods, Jr. age 60, of Berwyn, formerly of Forest Park, lost his courageous battle to cancer. Beloved husband of Kathy M. (nee Parks) and the late Cathy Ann (nee Gecic); loving father of Kelly Woods; cherished grandfather of Christopher and Taegan; dear brother of Margaret (Garrett) Curran, James (Karol) Woods, Karen (Gerald) Collins, John (Karen) Woods, Mike (Terri) Woods and Bridget (Robert) Dowdle; loved uncle of many. He was preceded in death by his loving parents the late Bernard C. and Elizabeth J. Woods (nee Clark). Barney was a carpenter by trade and the sole owner of Barney’s Doors & More. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and former member of the Midwest Vans Limited. Visitation Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 3 to 9pm at Hallowell & James Funeral Home 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside where a chapel service will be held that evening at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Adventist St. Thomas Hospice, 119 E. Ogden Ave., Ste. 111, Hinsdale, IL 60521 appreciated. Interment Private Info: (708) 352-6500

  2. Barney we met and became friends only a few years ago and am sad that we couldn’t of had more years to talk and ride together. I will miss your friendship and am sure someday we will ride. hold the gates open for me buddy

I haven’t been in touch with you for years but you were always the life of the party, the sunshine of the day, & took each day by the horns & turned it into an amazing experience.   7. Such a sweet gentleman! Always had a smile and could bbq a turkey like nobody else. He was taken from you way too young Kathy. But you sure made him a happy man while he was here.
