Kent Stephen EichlerKent Stephen Eichler, 64, passed suddenly at his home in Chicago, IL on January 28, 2015. Kent is survived by his daughter Lindsay Eichler (fiancé Noel Fouks), sister Mary (Joseph) Tyree, brother Douglas Eichler of Boulder, CO and nieces Catherine and Lauren Tyree.  He was preceded in death by his brother Grant (d. 1973), father Don Eichler (d. 1977) and his loving mother Marilyn Eichler Stout (d. 2014). Kent was born November 10, 1950.  He was raised in Western Springs, IL where he met the love of his life and late wife, Mary Beth.  He attended Lyons Township High School (’68) and went on to complete his undergrad in Photography at Southern Illinois University.  He later received his Masters in Graphic Design at the University of Illinois-Chicago.  Upon graduating from SIU, he traveled abroad extensively with his late wife and upon returning to the states, began work as an engineer at ElectroMotive in McCook, IL.  He and Mary Beth later settled in LaGrange, IL, where he raised their daughter.  Shortly after his wife’s passing in 1987, Kent turned his passion for photography and design into a business.  He opened Eichler Photographic and Design, Inc. in 1988 which he ran until he retired in 2003. Kent was above all, a devoted, loving and protective father to his daughter Lindsay.  He was brilliant, hilarious, could fix anything, an extraordinary cook, a “perfect sound” aficionado and he loved a good cigar. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11am on Tuesday, February 3, with funeral service immediately following at 11am at Hallowell & James Funeral Home in Countryside, IL.  Interment is private.
