Louis J. Hansen

Louis HansenLouis Joseph Hansen, 85, of Westmont, passed away at home on Sunday, Nov. 2nd, 2014 after a long illness.  He was born May 19, 1929 in Chicago, to Edward Hansen, Sr. and Anna, nee Vavrucha.  He graduated from Deer Park H. S. in Cincinnati, OH.  He worked for R. R. Donnelly in Chicago for many years, and when he retired, he started his own machine shop business, “Louis Hansen Enterprises,” during which time he invented several machine tool products.  He is predeceased by his first wife of 54 years, Helen Kalaha Hansen, his daughter, Karen Andrews, his son Gary (Jill & Mark) and granddaughter Jacqueline Hansen.  He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Parczynski Hansen.  He is the dear grandfather of Jonathan Burgstone and Bridget Hansen.  He is the great-grandfather of ` Benjamin and Nathaniel Burgstone.  Louis is the brother of Edward, Jr. (Marion), Diann (Carl) Bilitz and Paula (Richard) Janson.  He is the step-father of Chris Schumacher and Carla White and step-grandfather of Claire and Chloe White and Douglas Schumacher.  Visitation 4 to 8pm Wednesday, Nov. 5th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301-75th St. (at Fairview Ave.), Downers Grove, where Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Thursday, Nov. 6th.  Interment Oakridge/Glen Oak Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Season’s Hospice of Burr Ridge appreciated.  Funeral home phone 630/964-6500 or www.hjfunerals.com
