Peter Barritt, age 50, a resident of Wheaton, passed away peacefully at home May 11, 2014. Pete is survived by his two daughters, Becky and Megan, his father Les, brother Dave (Joan), sister Deb Lyons (Jeff), former wife Linda, his nephews Rick (Angela) and Bill Barritt, Mike Lyons, nieces Kim and Kate Lyons and grandniece Harper Barritt. His mother, Betsy, preceded him in death. Pete was born April 12, 1964, in Hinsdale and graduated from Lyons Township High School, University of Illinois Chicago, and the Keller Graduate School of Business with an MBA. His business career began as an assistant building manager of TB&Z Realty, then Operating Manager of the Wrigley Building and General Manager of 35 E. Wacker Drive, Chicago. He most recently was General Manager of the Village Market Shopping Center, LaGrange Park, IL. He was active in the First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn, IL, and enjoyed summers with family and friends at the family lake house in Silver Lake, WI. Pete was known for his kind heart, generosity and quick wit. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, at the First Congregational Church of Western Springs, 1106 Chestnut Street, Western Springs, IL 60558. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Pete’s honor to the First Congregational Church of Western Springs or the First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn, 535 Forest Ave., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
