Kenneth William Oestermeyer, 68, of Burr Ridge, passed away March 27th. Beloved husband of Cheryl, nee Roth, for 46 years. Loving father of Jon (Sarah), Suzanne (Paul) Galdun, Alexis (Sergio) Oneca. Grandfather of Jacob, Sophia and Luke Oestermeyer, Harrison and Emilia Galdun and Cohen and Tobias Oneca. Brother of David (Lori) Oestermeyer. Uncle and friend to many. Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, a degreed mechanical engineer from Valparaiso University, he owned his own successful industrial valve actuation business for over 30 years in the western suburbs. He enjoyed family and friends at Edgewood Valley Country Club in LaGrange. Visitation 4 to 8pm Thursday,April 3rd at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301-75th Street, Downers Grove. Will lie in-state Friday,April 4th from 10am until time of funeral service, 11am at Zion Lutheran Church, 204 South Grant Street in Hinsdale. Interment Fairmount Willow Hills Cemetery. We would certainly be there tonight and tomorrow if we were not in Arizona, which you, Cheryl. and Ken introduced us to. From getting married on the same day to our 15th wedding annoversary Ronnie Rice extravaganza, we have been best of friends! We raised our kids together and those friendships never die! We feel blessed to have known Ken all these years!
Dear Cheryl, I wrote a note & it came back. I then remembered your Christmas card came back too! I am so sorry to hear about Ken and shocked! One never expects old friends to die. I know this time is difficult, but I would love to visit with you to talk about Ken and just catch up. Love, Arlene
