Stanley BrennanStanley E. Brennan, 83, of Plainfield, formerly of Oak Lawn, passed away suddenly on October 6, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Catherine J. Loving father of John F. (Esperanza Chan) Brennan, Catherine A. Brennan and Susan J. Brennan. Proud grandfather of Haileigh C. Brennan. Dear brother of the late Jessie E. (late Howard) Drennan. Dear brother-in-law of the late Thomas D. Hueston and the late Blanche A. (Bruno) Bielawa. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Lifelong friend of Dorothy A. and Bert E. Bergstrom. Stan was born and raised in Chicago. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a graduate of the University of Dubuque, a long-time employee of Jewel Food Stores and, upon his retirement, enjoyed a second career in residential real estate. He was a member of Oak Lawn Lodge #1166, The Scottish Rite and the Medinah Shrine. He treasured his beautiful bride, Cathy, and the raising of their family together. Celebrations with family and friends were frequent and filled with love. They enjoyed their travels side by side, near and far. He possessed a lifetime love of music and reading. His blue eyes sparkled brilliantly each time he saw his beautiful grand-daughter. Visitation 3 to 9pm Thursday at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301-75th Street, Downers Grove, where services will be held at 11am on Friday. Interment Clarendon Hills Cemetery.
