Carol Sue Dziacko

Carol Sue Dziacko (née McFatridge), born on June 18, 1939, in Camden, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 86. She was the beloved daughter of Sarah (Baker) and Virgil McFatridge, who predeceased her.

In 1960, Carol married Stanley J. Dziacko, her partner until his death in 2005. They made their home in the Trader’s Point area of Indianapolis. In 2024, Carol relocated to Chicago to be closer to her daughter, Jennifer.

While Carol worked briefly in administration and retail, she dedicated most of her energy to her home and family. Known for her affability and unique sense of style, Carol’s aesthetic was a cheerful mash-up of whimsy, garden, and kitsch, infused with her signature color, pink.

Carol is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Wynne), her son Jeffrey, and her miniature dachshund, Tucker. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Barbara Sell.

In accordance with Carol’s wishes, there will not be a funeral or memorial service. Her ashes will be scattered at the same location as Stanley’s, honoring their enduring bond.

  2. Dearest Jenny and Jeff, our sincere condolences. It was a wonderful privilege too know your entire family, as family friends, your babysitter, and great neighbors, from the now famous Noel Road. We will keep you in our prayers, and think of Carol often, and you both.
And remember all of the wonderful times we shared, having girly lunches with Carol, and just visiting her lovely home, she loved to decorate. We will never forget the amazing canoeing adventures as kids, family picnics, fishing at Eagle Creek, and staying at the wonderful cabins in the State parks, your Dad designed. Carol was such a wonderful, kind person, and always wanted to know you were doing well. Especially after we lost both of our parents. I will always remember her beautiful smile, warm laughter, great hugs, the love she had for her family, her home and her dogs. She was someone to look-up to, as she always wanted to dress, and look her very best. I will always remember her for her great sweaters. She would have just the right one on, for every occasion. And would wear them proudly, and looked great in them. We will miss you Carol, you were a bright light in this world. I will never forget our last wonderful visit in Chicago, at your favorite restaurant, so we could sit outside, with your sweet Tucker by your side. It was such a great day.
Big Hugs Jane, Michael, Tweejie, and Zoey Thompson
