James Carlson, age 77, of LaGrange, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025. Beloved husband of Peggy Carlson for 34 years. Loving brother of Louise (David) Miller and the late David Carlson. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

James was a life-long collector of trains and toy soldiers. He was also an avid Cubs fan. He and Peggy spent their free time traveling, visiting museums, zoos, and racetracks around the world. His Christian faith was very dear to him. James’ career started as a high school math teacher and continued into a rewarding career as a systems programmer in telecommunications.

During his retirement he was very supportive of his wife’s activities at the Theatre of Western Springs and worked with her on various projects.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27 from 4pm to 7pm with a 6pm memorial service at Hallowell & James, 1025 W. 55^th St., Countryside. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Theatre of Western Springs, a not-for-profit community theater.
