Marilyn J. Tobiasz

Marilyn J. Tobiasz, age 98, of LaGrange Highlands; beloved wife of the late Henry Tobiasz; loving mother of Todd (Amber) Tobiasz, Tracy (the late James Morehead) Tobiasz, the late Timothy (Cheryl) Tobiasz; proud grandmother of Christina (Victor Palacios) Morehead, Erin (Matt) Tobiasz, Hilary (AJ) Chetta, & Haley Tobiasz; great-grandmother of Grace, Leah, Toby, & Maisie; dear aunt and friend of many.
Marilyn was born and raised in Harvey, Illinois. She worked for Marshall Field’s downtown store in high school and Union Carbide Corporation after high school. She met and married Henry Tobiasz and they moved to the Pullman neighborhood. They were both southside Cubs fans. They moved to LaGrange with Hank’s job at Electro-Motive. She was active in her children’s education and in the women’s group at St. Cletus parish. Once her children were older, she studied and started a second career as lead for accounts payable at Community Memorial General Hospital in LaGrange. She enjoyed her Tuesday golf league at Timber Trails and working crossword puzzles. She traveled extensively around the USA with her husband and traveled throughout Europe with her friends after Hank’s passing. A fan of classic movies, Marilyn became fast friends with her adopted mutt, Louis, named for Claude Rains’s character in “Casablanca”. WGN could be heard through the house most of the day. Marilyn enjoyed a long, fulfilling life and was grateful to those who helped her live it out in her home of 60 years.

Tracy and family, so sorry for your loss. Your mom was always one of the kindest and sweetest. May she rest in peace. Thoughts are with you.
Aunt Marilyn was a wonderful person.
She had a full life. She will be thought of and missed.
I’ll always remember the best Godmother a guy could have. My aunt Marilyn.
