RoseMarie Lipinski
Judge RoseMarie Lipinski (nee Lapinski), 83, died peacefully and strengthened by the Sacraments of the Church, on July 11, 2021. Beloved wife for 59 years of Congressman William O. Lipinski. Devoted mother of Laura Lipinski (Jim Broeking) and Congressman Daniel (Judy) Lipinski. Adoring grandmother of Brian and Conor Broeking. Daughter of the late Anna (Pasternak) and Frank Lapinski, and sister of Alice Grzelinski and the late Walter and Leonard Lapinski. Judge Lipinski graduated from St. Xavier University and received her Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center and served on the Illinois Court of Claims. She was also a strong advocate for education and taught pre-school for many years.
Visitation on Thursday, July 15, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Hallowell & James Funeral Home in Countryside. Funeral services on Friday, July 16, with prayers at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to St. John of the Cross Church for Mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Masses or donations to the RoseMarie Lipinski Memorial Fund at The Community Bank of Western Springs, 1000 Hillgrove Ave, Western Springs, IL 60558. My deepest sympathies to you on the death of Laura’s beloved mother. It leaves a hole in your heart which will heal when time passes and the years of wonderful memories erase the pain she suffered and that you now suffer.
I think about her opening her home to my visits, studying at Georgetown while Laura and I chatted by phone over the summer, and carrying her “bag” phone when we were enjoying the paddle boats at Rock Cut… and I smile. She loved life, and you.
