Dorothy Grace Bishop nee Foote, age 96, of La Grange Park, IL passed away on April 8, 2019. Devoted wife of the late Robert; beloved mother of the Rev. Benjamin (Susan), Thomas, Kip (Kathy), and Terry (Susan); cherished grandmother to Benjamin (Stacie) Bishop, Kelly (Stephen) Picton, Jennifer (Ken) Ellington, Julie (Matt) Beeman, Roy Bishop, and Kyle Bishop; loving great-grandmother to Zachary and Anna Picton, Andrew and Kate Ellington, Adelyn and Miles Beeman, and Julian Bishop. Visitation Friday, April 12 from 4pm until time of chapel service, 6pm at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Interment Marietta Cemetery, Marshall County, IA. Mom was a very close friend of mine. She would help me with my young special students in Eufaula, AL at Bluff City Elementary School. Dad & Mom would stop by our home in southeast Alabama for about two weeks each spring before driving back to LaGrange. She also helped with some of our field trips. Our field trip to Tuskegee, AL to visit the Booker T. Washington home and to view the exhibit on George Washington Carver’s life stands out in my memory. Terry can tell that story for me.
I will miss her!

Dorothy was a lovely woman. I will remember her from Lyonsville and also as she and Bob were friends of my parents (Conrad) growing up. She was so proud of her family.
I remember Dorothy as a warm and friendly woman. I have missed her since she left Lyonsville Church. I’m out of state so I am sorry I missed the visitation as I am out of state. My condolences to the entire family on the loss of such a special person.
