William P. Pavlecic

William P. Pavlecic, age 95, longtime resident of La Grange for 44 years. Beloved husband of the late Marian P. (nee Reilly) for a wonderful 63 years. Loving father of Bill Pavlecic, Patricia (Marc) Trudeau and Jim (Cheryl) Pavlecic, and the late David Pavlecic. Devoted grandfather of Amanda and Lindsey Pavlecic, Grace Trudeau, Caroline, Hannah, Ian and Chloe Pavlecic. Dear brother of the late Jack and the late Lee Pavlecic. Cherished son of the late Jacob and the late Caroline Pavlecic. Fond uncle and friend of many. Visitation 3 to 9pm Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Prayers 9:15am Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the funeral home, to St. Cletus Catholic Church, La Grange. Mass 10am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. William studied at Illinois Institute of Technology and received his architect’s license in 1958. He founded his own architecture firm, William Pavlecic & Associates, and successfully practiced for 55 years. Among his many works, he designed 27 churches, including St. Gall’s Roman Catholic Church, Saint Jane de Chantal Roman Catholic Church, and St. Simeon Mirotocivi Serbian Orthodox Church, all located in Chicago. His many other projects included Brookfield Federal Savings in Brookfield, College of Optometry dormitory in Chicago, Our Lady of Sorrows Benedictine Mother House and Acorn Public Library, both in Oak Forest, William Tell Inn Restaurant and Hotel in Countryside, and Ferry Hall School in Lake Forest. He was a member of St. Cletus Parish for 44 years. He was also a lifetime member of the American Institute of Architects Chicago. He was also a member of Lodge 52 of the Croatian Fraternal Union for 53 years, and was a frequent participant in their bowling leagues and golf tournaments.
