Elmer Rothrock

RothrockElmer Rothrock, 86, of Burr Ridge, Korean War Veteran, passed away May 1, 2016.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughters JoAnn (John) Maynard and Nancy (David) Rothner;  grandchildren, James, Patrick and Andrew Maynard, Nicole and Jack Rothner.  He has 2 surviving brothers, Charles and Sheldon Rothrock.  Memorial Visitation 1-6pm Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside.  Anyone wishing to join the family for a brief service following the visitation is welcome.  Contributions in his memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Assn. or the West Suburban Symphony.  Elmer graduated from Penn State University and earned a Masters from IIT.  He was a civil engineer for Chicago Bridge & Iron, board member Burr Ridge Middle School and West Suburban Symphony, Chairman of the Math Counts competition, twice Golden Gloves boxing champion, Pennsylvania and member of Community Presbyterian Church.  Info. 708/352-6500 or www.hjfunerals.com
