Wilma Joan MillerWilma Joan (nee Dixon) Miller, 91, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2016, surrounded by her adoring family and friends. A lifelong resident of La Grange, Wilma touched the lives of many with her wonderful laugh, twinkling eye and joyous disposition. Throughout her long and wonderful life, Wilma took amazing care of the things she loved – her six super children, as she called them, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a menagerie of animals and a fan club of friends. Wilma loved to travel, attend the Pet Parade and entertain at the holidays. A devout Catholic, Wilma shared her faith by giving back every day of her life. Wilma was the loving mother of Joan (Ken) Becker, Thomas (Julia) Miller, Peggy Miller, Susan Miller, Julie (Ken) Jarabek and the late John Miller; proud grandmother of Kevin (Kelly) Becker, Jennifer (Ali Brewer) Becker, Sara (Ross) Page, Adam (Nicole) Jansta, Elizabeth (Joseph) Mascio, John (Whitney) Jansta and Stephanie (Scott) Andersen; cherished great-grandmother of 7; kind aunt of 3.  Visitation will be held Sunday, January 31st, 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Hallowell & James Funeral Home 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside.  Funeral will be held Monday, February 1st, prayers at 9:15am at the chapel of Hallowell & James Funeral Home, then to St. Francis Xavier Church, La Grange, for a Mass at 10:00am. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Cradle or the Multiple Dystrophy Association would be appreciated.  Service info: (708) 352-6500

  1. Hey y’all. .don’t know if ya get this…Wilma was the best..my parents moved and Wilma took me in an figured out where…she always had a cold beer…love all you Millers..
