Jerome DonohueJerome Donohue, born May 5th, 1932; blessed husband of Mary Sue (nee Ryan); proud father of four: Laura, Michael (Megan), Martin (Arlene), and Denise (Jeffrey) Smitley; all are college graduates with successful careers; there are five wonderful grandchildren: Ryan (Maggie), Caitlin, Aidan, Liam, and Erin. Jerry was a retired IBMer, Navy veteran, and a former teacher. He was very involved in church and community activities and was very active in sports. He organized golf outings, baseball and basketball teams, and a seniors discussion group. He is missed by all who knew him. Visitation 9 to 10:30am on Monday, October 5 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Prayers 10:45am from the funeral home to St. John of the Cross Church, 5505 Wolf Rd., Western Springs. Mass 11:15am. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. John of the Cross benefiting the Jerry Donohue Scholarship Fund. Funeral Info: 708-352-6500

  1. Dad, I miss you terribly but know that you are happy now that you are reunited with Mom in heaven. I love you very much and a piece of my heart goes with you.   3. Jerry was a great guy. As Husband to my Godmother Mary Sue I knew him just about my entire life. I found him to be a very caring and interesting individual who loved life and his family. May Jerry now enjoy eternal happiness with Mary Sue.
