  4. I am so incredibly sad to hear of Pat’s passing. He was without a doubt the most kind and generous man I have EVER known. My heart goes out to his family and to everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. He was truly the definition of a gentle man.

  5. As one of the few bankers that had the pleasure to work with Pat, I had to express my deep sadness at his passing, but great joy in having known him. A good sense of humor only to match his heart of gold. Anyone who met him would at least be guaranteed to hear a good story that would make you smile. He had an innate knack of remembering the most minute detail about you or someone in your family. When I first met Pat, I think he was shocked that I knew the words to Oh Danny Boy! Thank you Pat for the joy you brought into our lives. Kathy Coley

  8. Jeanne & all the Mahoneys–We were so very sorry to hear from Vanessa that Pat had passed away. Even though we only had a few visits with Pat, we knew what a bigger-than-life man he was! His sense of humor & kind heart were very apparent–I know that he will be missed by many, because I know that he must have touched many lives during his lifetime!! All of you will be in our hearts & prayers during this difficult time, especially you, Jeanne!

  9. Pat’s love of life lingers in everyone he touched, and beyond. We are so thankful for having known him and his goofy humor, making each of us somehow a better person for the experience. What a legacy! A shining light has not gone out, but upward and outward. Let’s all keep it burning!

  10. MRS. MAHONEY and TIM. I am very sorry for your loss. Pat and I grew up a block apart and played together till high school. We kept in touch over the years and played a few rounds of golf a couple of years ago.Great man and loved everyone. He will be missed.

  11. Maureen, You and your family have my deepest condolences, may God grant you and your family strength and comfort during this trying time

  12. Pat was the man who always made a shy little kid laugh, who gave that same kid his first grown-up job, who would be unerringly generous and amazingly loving, who created fond memories instantly, and who will always be that fond memory for everyone he ever met. Thanks, Pat. You were an inspiration to us all, and this little kid will miss you.

  13. Dear Tim and his family,

I can’t begin to express my condolence in a way that would honor the depth of your loss. I know that in these moments it is easy to despair. It is easy to sink into dark waters. I just pray the Lord lifts you up. I pray He walks hand in hand with you and your family, Tim. I pray He will quickly calm the waters and lifts the veil of dark turbulent clouds that surrounds moments such as these. May the Spirit of love and peace and joy and strength be with you; supporting you; protecting you. May our LORD be onto you a rock; may he be your salvation and your comfort. I pray in the name of our loving savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

  14. God bless Pat. One of my dad’s.oldest friends and a great friend to our family. We are here at St Cleride in a full house, as it should be. Blessings on the Mahomey family.

  16. I am deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Mahoney. He was one of the most giving, honest, loving, and crazy men I’ve ever known. As a dear friend of my mom’s he also became a friend to me. He took such an interest in my son who has multiple disabilities, and always encouraged him to keep pushing forward. He was an inspiration to Bobby. Mr. Mahoney you will be truly missed, and I’ll bet you’re telling jokes to all those around you. May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
The entire Mahoney family is in my thoughts and prayers, particularly Mrs. Mahoney. May God grant you peace and comfort.

  17. Jeanne,
We are so saddened by the news of Pat’s death. Words cannot express how we felt when Maryellen called us. I wish we could be with you at this time….Pat meant so much to so many and will be deeply missed. He will never be forgotten!

  18. Always loved your directness, no beating around the bush with you Pat! Please give my dad a big hug for me.
    Until we meet again……………….
    Make them laugh

  19. So long Ace! I miss you already! Wanted to call you about seeing Mary and Aileen Deegan at your service and nearly fainting with the shock! You would have laughed. Mary told me that you have been having parties every Holy Thursday to commenorate that day we all met on the north side 56 years ago. I am ticked that you never called to me once to join you for that fun time.
Hate it that you are not around anymore. Not sure who I am going to call from now on when I get all mixed up. Keep an eye on us will you? We need all the help we can get!

  20. Jeanne,
I am one of his old girl friends from his days at the U of I. Over the years we talked now again about our Jeanne/Gene’s and the path of life we followed. Knowing Pat and his zest for life helped me to understand my late son, Sean. Sean dealt with Muscular Dystrophy with that same sense of Irish humor and joy for life. Pat will live in my memories of the care free days of college.
May God Bless you and your family,
    Charmaine
