  1. Eddy was a great role model and mentor as an official and more importantly, as a person. He will be missed by all who knew him – especially those who will always respect him for his character and professionalism, in the avocation he loved.

  2. My sincerest sympathies to Ed’s family. I knew him through officiating basketball. I found him to be generous with his time, interested in mentoring newer officials and a guy who understood life’s priorities and where officiating ranked within those priorities. I was stunned to hear of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers (from my family to yours) in this trying time. God Bless!

  3. Ed’s passing comes has a shock. We feel we grew up within his business when the torch was passed from his dad to Ed. The stories, comedy, laughter and the occasional bottle of wine are forever silenced. He helped our son as well by getting him started early with his financial needs. There is so much more to say and yet there are no more words. We are just so sorry.

  4. I saw a story of the death of Ed in Referee magazine. When I was a member of the AOA(1985-2000) I got to know Ed as a great guy, excellent official, and outstanding mentor to ALL younger officials. The world of officials is a little sadder with Ed being gone. He was well respected and loved by all who knew him-professional or personal.
