  1. I will truly miss a very dear old, old, friend. We have spent many hours together over the years and had a very special relationship. My condolences to all the children of Ruth and rejoice that she is free of illness and resting well.

  2. Don and I are very saddened to hear of Ruth’s passing. We have many many great memories especially that we got together with she and Carl for dinner and lots of reminiscing. We send our deepest condolences to each family and know time will heal.

  3. I am happy to hear that my favorite Aunt has “graduated with honors” from this prestigious Earthbound university. My childhood was enriched beyond words by her presence in my life. I learned so much from her, and I respected her immensely. I’ve lost touch and missed talking to her over the years, but now feel that I have a direct line to her whenever I so desire. I look forward to seeing her again one day … as I know we all do. Knit me a sweater in the meanwhile if you have the time Auntie Ruth! With love across the miles ~ Your “Krix”

  4. Auntie Ruth, I will miss you. Oh so many memories…

4th of July parties and Mom & I helping to skewer the lamb shish-kabobs & watching you make rice pilaf which tasted better than my Mom’s since you used real butter.

Fresh strawberries outside your back door.

Many, many nights sleeping with my sisters in your and Uncle Carl’s bed while the adults played Canasta and Mahjong. Being woken up at 2 am, bundled up and carried out to the car by my Dad.

The thorny bushes outside your front door where a bratty girl pushed me backwards off the porch into those thorns at 5 years old.

Weekends in the summer up at Lake Geneva, at Norman B. Barr Camp. Walking to the restrooms at night. Acorns on the paths. Those long stairs down to the lake. Husking sweet corn. I can still remember the smell of the old fashioned ice cream parlor. That fateful day when I jumped from the pier into my father’s arms, yet he dropped me into the water and I came up with a railroad spike stuck into my foot! Him carrying me up all those stairs back to the cabin.

So, so many memories. You were a big part of my life and reconnecting with you in these last few years meant the world to me! I love you and will see you again someday.

  5. Blessed to know her daughter Patti- a friend and daily inspiration to my life. I can only imagine what an amazing women her mother was.

  6. To all of you, Monte and I send our condolences. Your Mom, Ruth, taught me many things during our days as neighbors — to many to note here, but will be delivered to you soon. I will miss being in touch with Ruth, but will be remembering her as I write about those years.
